In Victoria it was announced last week that the Burwood School closing its doors at end of 2009. Where will the children go for their specialist learning needs?? There is to be a series of forums over the next few weeks looking into the situation. (articles from Herald Sun dated Monday 20 th and Friday 17 th October 2008) Any support please email AAPVI.

I am the newly co-opted representative on the Client Representative Council for Vision Australia representing parents. This Council is composed of people representing various regions within Vision Australia’s service delivery area. The Council meets four times per year and is an Action Group working in partnership with Vision Australia to deliver better services in all aspects of the life of the Vision Impaired. Attached is the latest report.

Report about the recent NDS Conference in Melbourne

The NDS (National Disability Services ) in partnership with Families Australia held its inaugural conference at the Melbourne Function Centre on the 14 and 15 May 2008. The theme was “Every Child Matters’. I was fortunate to present a paper regarding Education Protocols relating to the student with a disability.
